Crashed after taking off from Toledo Express Airfield, landing 5,800 ft. beyond the runway threshold. Sixteen members of the California State Polytechnic College, San Luis Obispo football team killed. Premature lift-off, partial loss of power in the No.1 engine, overweight aircraft and weather conditions were the cause of the crash.
